Documenting Attendance

Documentation of attendance is a critical component of earning CE credit. TG&A provides an electronic process for establishing eligibility specifically for CE credit.
Self-reporting attendance on an online form holds professionals accountable for establishing their eligibility for CE credit. It is also the most efficient approach as the complete list of attendees is available immediately following the event, allowing TG&A to send the invitation to the evaluation within hours.
Providing attendees with clear and precise instructions is essential to ensure success of the documentation process. At the beginning of the presentation, the presenter must announce that attendance will be taken electronically immediately following the presentation. Immediately following the presentation, the presenter provides access to the online form and reminds attendees that they must document their attendance to be eligible for CE credit.
In-Person and Live Webinar Events
Attendees watching an online CE event on a computer access the online attendance form by clicking a link in the webinar chat. When several people watch the webinar on the same computer, they take turns clicking on the link and completing the form.
For an audience in a meeting room watching a live presentation or a presentation projected remotely, a QR code on the screen will give each attendee access to the online attendance form.
Enduring Events
Capturing attendance for enduring events is built into the activity.
Alternate Approaches to Attendance Documentation
Online Presentations That Require Registration
When attendees register for an event delivered on a platform such as zoom, Webex, GoogleMeet, or Microsoft Teams, TG&A will accept the attendance report that includes time in/time as documentation of attendance.
In-Person Meetings
1) If TG&A has uploaded a registration list for the event, each attendee can be identified as present on the TG&A portal when they arrive. Unregistered attendees can be added to the portal on-site.
2) If there is no pre-registration, attendees can be checked into the event on the TG&A portal when they arrive.
3) An alternative to online documentation is providing TG an attendance list after the event. An excel spreadsheet with columns for the attendees' first name, last name, and email address is the least efficient, most time-consuming, and more expensive approach. The attendees’ invitation to the evaluation is delayed for as long as it takes the host to produce the attendance report.
