Contact Hours for Nurses

CEUs are the Kleenex of the Continuing Education World.

I’ll bet half the folks who ask for a Kleenex don’t know that it’s a brand name, not another word for facial tissue….just like CEU isn't a generic term for continuing education credit.

CEU is actually a measurement … it’s 10 hours of education time. 

A few organizations are still using that measurement… each of their certificates for an hour of education time is 0.1 CEUs.

What YOU really want to ask is …  “Can TG&A provide contact hours for this presentation?”

In the nursing world, one contact hour is 60 minutes of education time that includes the presentation, Q&A/Discussion, and the evaluation.

TG&A provides contact hours, not CEUs.
